Who I Am 𓆏

Think Phoenix energy in this space.

I've been about seven different women over forty one years. Party princess, free spirit, DJ, cancer patient, wannabe homesteader, tie-dyed sheep of the family. Only one name has stayed constant: Evolution. I am a microcosm of it, inside the macrocosm of it. I refuse to be stagnant.

Then came the reckoning. Twelve years of living organic, low tox, integrated with nature, and I still landed a stage three diagnosis of a rare, aggressive cancer, not long after moving back to the States. Shocking, and also not shocking at all, once you understand how toxic this place really is. It cracked me open and forced me to face unfamiliar tests in familiar ways. I made it 6 months of chemotherapy without side effects and emerged with new wings and a new identity, somehow more myself than before the fire got lit.

I question everything and trust almost nothing, except myself and my own body. I don't outsource my power and I'm not here to hand you answers. I'm here to remind you how accessible and wildly intelligent your own internal navigation already is. Critical thinking is a lost art, the same way common sense isn't common anymore.

I live in the intersection where most people insist on separating science and spirit, research and intuition, modern medicine and ancestral wisdom, individual sovereignty and community responsibility. I don't believe any of it should be partitioned. Cancer taught me to trade either/or for both/and.

I am not here for quick fixes, optimization, or hustle culture. This is a place to pay closer attention, where the outside noise softens and what whispers to you from within finally gets easier to hear.

Welcome home.

What I Write About

Five threads running through everything

Discernment Over Dogma

I don't hand my trust over easily, not to a white coat just because it's a white coat, and not to a shaman or a mushroom or someone barefoot in linen just because they carry the aesthetics of wisdom. What I actually trust is the practice itself, the paying attention, the investigating, the listening inward, and then making the best decision I can with what I actually have in front of me. This isn't a belief system I'm defending, but a method and a philosophy I keep returning to. It's the root that the rest of this grows out of, and the thing that keeps me from ever locking myself into a jail cell when the door is left wide open.

Lived Experience as the Testing Ground

I didn't read my way into any of this. I walked through chemo, and I walked through ketamine and psilocybin and ayahuasca, and each one taught me something different because I let it, and because I stayed open enough to be changed by what happened in my own body instead of protecting a theory I'd already decided to believe. That's the difference between borrowed authority and earned authority, between quoting a study and knowing, in my own skin, what it feels like when a belief I was sure of gets pulled open by something I never could have predicted from the outside. My ideas have been tested against my actual life. My beliefs have crumbled and my stubbornness been lovingly smacked out of me and because they had the chance to break, and to be wrong, a truer version of me was born of it.

A Tolerance for Paradox

I can love this earth with everything in me, choose the herbs over the prescriptions, and when the moment called for it, I still took the infusion when my body needed it because the others were working elsewhere. I've learned to hold grief and gratitude, wound and wisdom, and fear and freedom at the same time. I can trust data and still leave the door open for God, for intuition, for ceremony, for the things we haven't built an instrument sensitive enough to measure yet. So much of the world wants to flatten the tension of opposition because it's uncomfortable to hold two true things that refuse to resolve into each other. Nothing is black or white, left or right anymore. I let both things stay true at once, and find all shades in between because that's closer to how healing actually moves through a body, a population, a living consciousness, through the moon's own pull on the water in us.

Ecological Thinking

Nothing I write comes down to a supplement stack or a five-step plan to optimize myself into submission, because I've never experienced my body as a separate machine that just needs the right fix. I experience the whole web, all of it pulling on all of it: nervous system, relationships, land, community, culture, spirit. When I write about healing, I'm really writing about how a person finds their way back into their own integrated ecosystem, not how to hack one isolated part of themselves while the rest of the web goes untended.

Holy Rebellion with Responsibility

There's a real edge in me, and I've learned it's only useful when it isn't rebellion for its own sake. The spicier version of it asks harder questions than that: does this actually make sense, is it ethical, is it reciprocal, is it true, who benefits, and what are we conveniently choosing to forget? I turn to research when research can actually answer the question in front of me. I turn to intuition when the spreadsheet runs out of road. I turn to prayer when the fork in the road is foggy, and I try to keep just enough levity in me to call BS the moment a room starts taking itself too seriously, myself included.
